Now accepting applications from Newly Qualified University Students graduating in 2025!

Our client is a Special School, College, Registered Children's Home and Adult Supported Living House with 250 staff contributing to having a positive influence on the lives, communication and wellbeing of children and young people with special needs. Their 70 students are aged 5 to 19 and have needs that include autism, language and communication disorders, ADHD, severe and complex learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.

They are seeking two Occupational Therapists to join their multidisciplinary therapy team with an emphasis on delivering therapy through groups and individual sessions. You will ideally be compassionate and patient with a strong interest in mental health and learning disabilities in children and young people. You will be HCPC registered. They welcome applications from those who are newly qualified.

This is a term time only role and they are open to flexibility. If you wish to work part time, they are open to discussion and will be prepared to seriously consider part time requests. The salary range for this role is based on 37 hours per week, 52 weeks a year. In practice, full time therapist hours are compressed into term time plus 5 in-service training days working each academic year (39 weeks).

As well as delivering therapy, you will manage and prioritise some caseloads and enjoy building good working relationships with their students, their families and your colleagues. You will be a part of a friendly, busy, multidisciplinary therapies team that includes therapy assistants as well as therapists in speech and language, music and drama.

Your role will include some supervision and monitoring of programmes delivered by their Therapy Assistants. Their team do spend some time in the classrooms as part of their successful approach to delivering some therapy while working in tandem with their education team.

Opportunities for specialist training and up-dating are regularly available. If you are recruited, you will be required to complete Team Teach positive behaviour support training as part of your induction before employment. Physical and mental resilience are essential qualities for all their staff.
